XIV. LAYOUT SCHEMATICS:

A.   TRACK SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS:

to be developed - future outline shown

The purpose of these drawings is to identify track and switches, and uniformly designate same for such purposes as electrical, mechanical, operational and maintenance.

These drawings are contained in Section II. Layout of this manual.

The following Electrical Schematics are based on the TS drawing.

B.   TRACK SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS - STATION DESIGNATIONS:

Refer to the Station Designations index in Section II. Layout as well. They shall be applied to these documents for the purpose of the uniform identity.

D.   ELECTRICAL SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS - TURNOUT DESIGNATIONS:

Switches will be designated as follows: AA-B-n.

"AA"= Station designation, see above. "B"= E, W, B, X, Y or Z
E= east facing
W= west facing
B= junctions with branch lines
X= mainline crossovers
Y= engine facilities
Z= industrial trackage

"n"= turnout number,
priority: east to west, closest to main.

East and West turnouts of same siding should have same number.

E.   ELECTRICAL SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS - Description and Purpose:

The purpose of these drawings is to document the layout wiring for general reference, maintenance and fault locating.

The Electrical Schematic (ES) drawings mimic the Track Schematic (TS) drawings as previously described in their designations and organization.

The ES drawings are subdivided by the type of wiring. Such drawings are indicated by the following alpha suffix:
